PCL Construction Hiring for Solar Field Engineer at Houston, TX Full Time

Responsibilities

• Mentors and leads inspections and orientations, identifies hazards and corrections, and leads by example for health and safety practices and procedures.
• Coordinates with superintendent on workforce planning.
• Maintains project document control and procedures. Supports project engineers and/or superintendents to lead trade contractors, including requests for information (RFIs), shop drawings, changes, and billings.
• Participates in the supervision of self-perform scopes, including resolving crew sizes, labor tracking, and quantity tracking for Labor Cost s (LCRs).
• Mentors and coaches field engineers and students/interns).
• Identifies issues on-site or in defined work scopes.
• Coordinates third-party inspections and site reviews.
• Willing to work in all aspects of utility scale solar construction projects including but not limited to self-perform scopes of piles, racking, modules, and electrical; along with working with subcontractors in sitework, fencing, etc.
• Participates in crafting, implementing, and supervising quality plan, Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
• Develop and maintains positive relationships focusing on all partners.
• This position is 100% travel – Candidates can be based out of anywhere in the US. Established Solar construction company is seeking a Field Engineer

Qualifications

• Associates or bachelor’s degree in a related field: construction management, engineering, architecture preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 8-12 months of varied experience as field engineer/coordinator preferred; time acquired during internships in the field may count as experience.
• Utility Scale Construction experience is recommended but not required.
• Knowledge of construction specifications, and methods and procedures (e.g., formwork methodologies, self-perform work, subcontracted work scopes, temporary work, equipment, and scheduling techniques).
• Understands and applies construction principles to problem solve.
• Effective verbal and written communication with supervisors and subcontractors, and s.
• Proven track record to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Writes clear technical communication to trade contractors, designers and inspectors.
• Develops and maintains effective partner relationships.
• Proficient Microsoft Office Suite and construction related software
