We are currently looking for a Consultant or Senior Consultant, Payer Advisory who is interested in working with various clients across the spectrum of healthcare.

Responsibilities

The Consultant or Senior Consultant, Payer Advisory is responsible for managing a set of clients and life cycle of projects for clients. Develop strategies to advise and plan go to market strategies for clients that result in financial growth and increased profitability. Work closely with internal stakeholders and external parties such as C-suite members of large healthcare organizations and health plans.

• Work with assigned clients to determine areas of financial opportunity for improvement
• Lead projects as assigned by internal and external stakeholders
• Work with the payer negotiation team to negotiate reimbursement terms with third party health plans
• Act as liaison between health plans and clients 
• Create and maintain relationships between operations, clients, and payers 
• Create and maintain strong client and key internal relationships that facilitate strategic growth
• Maintaining client satisfaction through timely and professional internal and external communication
• Assisting in the development of go-to market payer strategies and provide advisory services to clients 
• Preparing s and presentations to monitor portfolio performance, yield, payer enrollment, payer mix, etc. 
• Demonstrated proficiency with financial s and modeling
• Provides input to the appropriate individuals to contribute to the development of corporate initiatives
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to enable the presentation of data in a convincing fashion
• Ability to work in a matrix environment where multiple and competing client demands are high 
• Conduct onsite visits with payers, clients and centers that require market specific strategies 
• Assume responsibility for communication and execution of corporate initiatives
• Provides input to the appropriate individuals to contribute to the development of corporate initiatives. 
• Self-directed with a strong bias for action. 
• Excellent customer relationship / management skills with payer and clients 
• Demonstrated building and leading successful teams in a managed care setting. 

Qualifications

• EXCEPTIONAL Customer Service / Client Retention skills, ability to communicate with senior C-suite leaders of large physician groups, Private Equity firms and hospital / health systems.
• Extremely driven and motivated individual to collaborate daily with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure optimal performance of assigned clients and respective payer negotiations
• Skilled negotiator with a proven track record and able to achieve results in challenging environments, including direct experience within contract negotiations and complex reimbursement arrangements including but not limited to value-based arrangements, capitation, fee-for-service, bundled payments, carve-outs, DRG’s, etc. 
• Possess a strong understanding of the healthcare industry and payor-provider reimbursement methodologies as well as pricing strategies 
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of state and federal legislation related to payment initiatives and policy changes 
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, confident and impactful presenter – experience leading meetings with senior leadership of large organizations

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from top educational program is required with record of academic excellence
• Previous consulting or management consulting experience is required 
• Previous work history at one the big 3 consulting firms is preferred
