Paws Holdings is a pet wellbeing online retail Group embarking on an ambitious transformation programme to become Europe’s Leading Dog and Cat Wellbeing Business. We are privately owned and based in Clerkenwell, London.

During 2021, we have launched our exciting new brand Paws.com and have acquired fetch.co.uk and BobandLush.com. We are currently a c. £45m revenue business with the UK business representing c. 90% of the company’s revenue. We trade under five different brand fascia (Paws.com, Pet-Supermarket, MedicAnimal, PetMeds and Bob & Lush) and in five countries (UK, France, Germany, Netherlands, and Austria).

ABOUT THE ROLE

All roads lead to the Finance department! Nothing happens in the business which does not in some way end up on one of the desks in this department – be it sales reports and margin analysis, controlling stock purchasing and paying suppliers, checking how much money we have available…and of course paying those all-important salaries.

The Accounts Assistant will support the finance team in all aspects of the day-to-day accounting and administration, with specific responsibility for processing data and preparing reconciliations related to the purchase ledger.

The finance team is an integral part of Paws and your role is paramount to continuing success. If you love delivering world class service, love problem solving and being part of a fun and fast paced team, then this is the job for you!

Please also bear in mind we have dogs in the office (and you can bring your own!).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Validation and input of supplier invoices

· Set up and management of supplier payments

· Reconciliation of supplier accounts

· Bank Account, Petty Cash and Credit Card reconciliations

· Update Cash flow file

· Provide ad-hoc assistance to the Finance team where required

This position reports to the Financial Controller.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

· Experience within a similar position would be interesting but not essential to be considered

SKILLS & TRAITS REQUIRED

We’re looking for a self-starter with a can-do, positive attitude and the desire and ambition to progress within a finance role. In addition, you’ll need to demonstrate:

· Some relevant administration experience working within an office environment

· A logical approach to dealing with work and managing workload

· Basic MS Excel and Word skills as a minimum

· Must be fluent in written and spoken English, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
