Key Points of the role:

• Experience shipping apps in Kotlin or Swift
• Experience working with concurrent internal-facing and external-serving APIs
• Experience in fintech
• Experienced teacher or mentor
• Work from Central Time

• Taking apps from idea to app store launch and beyond in small startup environments
• Identifying and preventing and solving performance and security issues
• Creating a11y-first mobile experiences that meets WAI/WCAG standards
• Navigating cross-platform challenges in consumer-facing production mobile apps
• Doing all of the above ideally in ReactNative environments while CI/CD approach
• Comfortable existing in and seeking direction in an environment of ambiguity and change
• Proactive problem solver who enjoys deeply understanding business needs and balancing conflicting needs
• Shipping features independently while supporting your (remote-first) teammates
• Working cross-functionally in a remote-first, Agile environment (we have been remote-first for years)

Job Description Details:
You’ll be leading the launch and subsequent releases of Company’s first mobile application.

• Create a solid foundation for a mobile application that interacts with a shared RESTful API
• Work closely with the mobile squad’s tech lead in API design
• Own creation and maintenance of CI/CD
• Establish automated testing practices (including coverage for both Android and iOS users)
• Support our Rails/React-familiar software engineers in delivering maintainable mobile code, including setting codebase direction and patterns, and delivering caring feedback to engineers newer to mobile development
• Work closely with your manager (the mobile squad manager) in supporting your squad teammates
• Make recommendations and set direction for future app releases based on evolving Android and iOS landscapes
• Partner with the Product team in setting app store reviews strategy
