A LITTLE ABOUT US:
Patton Accounting & Tax, PLLC is a remote accounting firm that serves clients across the states. We offer accounting and tax services to small business owners. We work mostly with online entrepreneurs and beauty professionals. We are growing quickly and would love to hire someone interested in growing with us.
A LITTLE ABOUT THE ROLE:
Role – tax preparer:
– We are looking for someone who is friendly, communicative, eager to learn, detail-oriented, and hard-working
– As a tax preparer you will be expected to prepare 1040, 1065, and 1120S tax returns based off information given to you by the client. You will be expected to communicate with the client and ask them clarifying questions in order to help you preparer the return. Prior experience with tax preparation is required.
– Basic knowledge of QuickBooks Online is helpful as most of our clients use QBO for their bookkeeping (training can be provided)
– We use CCH Axcess for tax preparation. Experience with this software is a plus but definitely not required.
– We are looking for someone who has the ability to multi task and stay calm while juggling multiple projects.
– Since this is a remote position and all work is done virtually via computer access it is important that you are tech savvy and have a high degree of computer literacy.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills are expected.
– The hours of this position are rather flexible. We need someone who can offer a minimum of 20 hours/week during busy season or a maximum of 40 hours/week during busy season. We are open to hiring someone part-time, full-time, or seasonal. We are more focused on hiring the person vs simply filing a role. If you are the right fit, we will adapt the role to your needs.
– This position is 100% remote so an at-home work space is required. You will be reimbursed for your home office, office equipment, and business use of your cell phone and internet.
– Starting pay: $17-22/hour DOE (pay will continue to increase as our firm grows and as you grow in your role here)
– Since we deal with sensitive client information, background checks will be performed before you can be hired
We expect you will manage somewhere between 5-15 tax returns/week during busy season. All returns will be reviewed by two different managers to ensure accuracy. It is important that you care about our clients and put time into understanding their businesses. Your job is to make their life easier.

Flexible work hours (aka working during nap times and evening and weekends) are a given.
