Patriot Forge Co. Hiring for Forklift Driver at Brantford, ON Full Time

Patriot Forge Co. supplies carbon, alloy and stainless steel forgings with heat treatment, machining and testing.

Through continual upgrades, Patriot Forge has been able to enhance our manufacturing capabilities to better serve the needs of our ever evolving customer base.

We are currently recruiting for a Manipulator Driver (Forklift Driver) to join our team!

Responsibilities:

• Start up and operation of all Manipulators
• Produce forgings per Patriot Forge process specifications
• Load furnaces per Lead Hand’s instructions
• Grease manipulators
• Perform safety checks and preventative maintenance
• Perform material handling tasks as necessary
• Create tags and identify forgings
• Measure forgings during and after production
• Ensure general housekeeping standards (5S)
• Shovel scale
• Measure forged product per Lead Hand’s instruction
• Assist in Heat Treat as required
• Lift up to 50 pounds as required
• Comply with company policies and procedures
• Perform additional responsibilities as required and appointed by management
• Work various shifts

Experience/Skills/Education:

• High school diploma required
• Previous industrial experience, preferable in a foundry or steel industry
• Familiarity with material handling equipment (overhead cranes and forklifts) and the safe handling of large objects
• Good command of the English language both written and verbal
• Demonstrated communication, problem solving, interpersonal and analytical skills
• Demonstrated strong organizational, planning, coordination and priority setting skills to complete multiple tasks and projects
• Good leadership skills
• Aware of hot forging principles
• Must be able to work in hot conditions and to stand or sit for extended periods of time
