Overview:

The Financial Analyst is an integral part of the budgeting and forecasting process. It is their job to partner with the line of business in obtaining clear direction for the quarterly forecast for all items impacting the P&L under the general direction of the VP of Finance. Provides analytical support for various projects. Participates in high visibility, strategic organizational projects. Supports the credit union’s vision and mission, and the department’s focus on service, quality, efficiency, and teamwork.

Responsibilities:

  • Active participation in the quarterly forecast process, including providing support and analysis for business units
  • Assists in the monthly maintenance and analysis of profitability and budget software, making recommendations regarding income and expense allocation
  • Partner with business units to consult, develop and build analytical reports to provide actionable data
  • Performs financial modeling and cost benefit analyses for organizational and departmental projects
  • Analyze drivers of credit union metrics and make recommendations for alternative measures based on in-depth understanding of credit union goals and performance
  • Perform budget variance analysis
  • Understands and supports organizational metrics that are used to measure success
  • Participates in department and/or organizational projects as directed
  • Perform financial analysis of third-party vendors as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable federal and state laws and banking regulations (including those related to OFAC and Bank Secrecy Act / Anti-Money Laundering compliance) and Patelco Credit Union’s policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university with a concentration in accounting or finance. MBA desirable.
  • 3+ years of experience in the accounting or finance division, preferably with a financial institution.
