Patco Construction Hiring for General Accountant/Payroll Specialist (Entry Level) Job at Sanford, ME Full Time

Patco Construction is seeking an experienced staff accountant to join our Accounting Department. The role this person plays is important as he or she is present to assist the Accounting Team in daily tasks that allow the team to be successful. Construction or real estate experience a plus but not required. This position also requires discretion, confidentiality and detailed knowledge of the organization’s operations, procedures and people.

Qualifications and Essential Skills

Professional

· Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience

· Knowledge of accounting procedures and software, Sage 100 experience preferred

· Proficiency using MS Office products including Excel and Word

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Organized and able to prioritize

Responsibilities

• Processes weekly and bi-weekly payroll

• Prepares and reviews bank deposits.

• Reconciles monthly bank statements

• Prepares internal and consolidated financial statements.

• Account reconciliations

• Prepares yearly budgets

• Monthly reports

• Monthly Journal Entries/AJEs

• Prepares the monthly invoices for commercial tenants

• Records receivables and prepares the weekly report

• Provides information and analysis to the tax accountants

• Maintains strict confidentiality of all financial and personnel matters

• Works with IT department to ensure system backups are completed and monitored

• Performs other accounting duties as requested by the officers of the company

Organizational Relationships

Reports directly to the Controller.

Pay: $45,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year
