Parsage Inc Hiring for Software Product Director Job at Remote Full Time

We are looking for a Product Director for a small and dynamic software company that services external clients and an internal SaaS product. Product Director responsibilities include gathering feature requests, scheduling releases and coordinating sprints. To be successful in this role, you should be able to identify user needs and work with cross-functional teams to manage product releases. Ultimately, you’ll help us roll-out products that deliver our company’s vision.

Product Director Responsibilities:

• Gain understanding on how the product works and how it is used by customers

• Every function should be clear

• Every bug and incomplete function should be known and understood

• Must understand the cyclical nature of the work clients/customers do and when they have increased need because of spikes in work based on their internal processes (like annual planning)

• Manage quality

• Along with the assistance of the lead software developer and CEO, ensure the right resources are available for testing and quality assurance.

• When necessary, step in to assist in quality and testing.

• Work with CEO to coordinate efforts and lead product work

• Manage and own the roadmap of future product work

• Coordinate and ensure that other areas outside of product are in place (e.g. pricing, hosting, legal, etc.)

• Work with head of development to balance work with available resources

• Work with customers to understand their needs and set expectations for how/when things will be addressed

• Understand the nature of the work of customers and WHY they need things, not just document what they say

Release and Sprint Management Responsibilities

• Incorporate feature requests into product roadmap

• Groom and prioritize backlog

• Develop user stories and define acceptance criteria

• Set sprint goals

• Write acceptance tests

• Plan releases and upgrades

• Work with the development team to provide short and mid-term guidance on releases

• Ensure that both overall picture for release is clear and each ticket

• Follow progress of work and address production issues during sprints

• Analyze preferences and requests of end users

• Refine our agile methodology based on results and client feedback

• Keep track of industry trends

Preferred Skills

• Work experience as a Product Owner/Director or similar role in product management

• Understanding of agile software development

• Hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle

• Some experience in management consulting

• Technical background with knowledge of software development and web technologies

• Team spirit and good communication abilities

• Excellent organizational skills

• Undergraduate degree in an analytical field

• Has interest in startup environment

Education:

• Bachelor’s (Required)

Experience:

• Agile: 3+ years (Required)

• Working in a software company: 5 years (Preferred)

• Prior experience working in management consulting or similar contract organizations a strong plus

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $40.00 – $85.00 per hour
