PHIVE, 5 Parramatta Square, due to open in mid-2022, provides a unique opportunity for you to join with the City of Parramatta in setting a new benchmark for customer service delivery excellence for our community while working as part of a new dynamic team in an iconic, smart, environmentally sensitive, architecturally designed building that will be the jewel of Parramatta Square. PHIVE will be a 7-day operation offering a wide range of unique experiences to everyone who lives, works, studies, visits and plays in our City.

About the role
The PHIVE Technology Coordinator is a specialist role as part of the multi-disciplinary team based at PHIVE. The role is responsible for the coordination of the delivery of the technology services and solutions for PHIVE including implementing, maintaining, and monitoring technology systems, platforms and equipment, as well as coordinating contractors and suppliers to deliver superior technology services for the public and internal customers.

On a daily basis you will:

• Lead the planning, delivery, storage, and maintenance of all technical and production assets throughout their lifecycle.
• Provide advice, assistance and support to clients and staff in regard to technical and production capabilities.
• Support the PHIVE service delivery teams to facilitate technology requirements for programming and venues across PHIVE and Parramatta Town Hall.
• Manage stakeholder and customer technical expectations within a highly subjective environment.
• Apply a flexible approach to develop solutions, and management of the business unit’s technical and production assets.
• Provide information, reporting and advice as a central point of contact for the building’s technology and deliver information efficiently.
• Lead the design and delivery of technology training and induction to improve capability as required.
• Manage risks and issues associated with technology hardware and systems used throughout PHIVE in a proactive manner. This includes development, and maintenance of the Risk Register, Safety Plans and Risk Assessments to ensure a safe environment.
• Coordinate vendor, supplier and contractor work to ensure compliance with PHIVE key performance indicators, functional and technical specifications.
• Promote continuous improvement and innovation in practices, optimisation of technology, procedures and recommendations with the aim of providing better service to the client base in line with the organisation’s values.

PHIVE is a six level, Council owned and operated, flagship community, cultural and civic facility, housing Council’s city branch library, Council Chambers (seat of government), community meeting rooms, Aboriginal Cultural Materials Keeping Place, café, and a suite of flexible programmable community spaces.

Designed by award-winning French architect Manuelle Gautrand, in partnership with Australian architectural firms Lacoste Stevenson and Design Inc., The Phive is an iconic, smart and environmentally sustainable building, sympathetically designed to incorporate the neighbouring historic, fully restored, Parramatta Town Hall, and will be the jewel in the crown of the Parramatta Square precinct. PHIVE will set a new benchmark in unique and memorable experiences for all who live, work, or visit City of Parramatta.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Technical Services, Theatre, Production, Audio-visual, Broadcasting, or Event Management (or related discipline) or a significant amount of comparable industry experience in a project and/or team leader capacity. Cert IV Train the Trainer qualification (desirable).

Skills

• Strong technical and analytical skills in lighting, audio, vision, rigging, staging and related areas.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver technology and production equipment and services to a high level.
• Demonstrated ability to meet WHS and statutory requirements for the use of technical and production equipment.
• Demonstrated contractor management skills.
• Exceptional ability to communicate, negotiate, build relationships and influence others with an engaging approach and technique.
• Well-developed planning, organisation and time management skills, including the ability to meet tight deadlines and balance competing priorities in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.

Experience

• 5+ years demonstrated experience in a senior position relating to production and technical management and in the provision of high-level operational support within a dynamic and challenging environment such as conference centres, theatres, multi-arts facilities, or multi-purpose public buildings.
• Demonstrated experience in specifying and managing procurement of technical equipment and major system upgrades and ongoing service contracts within government procurement guidelines, policies and legislation.
• Significant experience implementing, maintaining and monitoring technology in a similar environment, with a proven track record of achieving objectives.
• A demonstrated understanding of key issues, industry trends and development in the audio-visual industry and technical services in performance style venues.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including Computer skills, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, Vectorworks and Venue Management Software.
• Demonstrated understanding of the relevant legislative and regulatory requirements relating to Technical and Production Service Delivery and the ability to practically apply this knowledge.

We are offering an attractive remuneration package starting from $109,408.75 to $120,458.36 (Includes Salary + Super).
