Parramatta City Council Hiring for Senior Specialist Job at Parramatta Full Time

About the Role

This permanent-full time position will be responsible for providing expert professional urban design and built form advice for a range and breadth of projects aligned to achieve specific outcomes as identified in Parramatta 2038 and Council’s Corporate Plan, with a focus on Design Excellence, including guidance to the Design Excellence Assessment Panel (DEAP).

On a daily basis you will be responsible for providing high-level strategic and specialised advice, promoting design integrity, and identify emerging issues and opportunities to achieve the Council’s vision and strategic outcomes.

This role will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on city significant development, design competition briefs, providing advice to design juries and panels to ensure consistent and quality design outcomes are realised for all major City building initiatives, design frameworks and improvements.

About the Person

The successful candidate should have Tertiary qualifications and experience in urban design and/or architecture including software/ hand drawing capability.

You will have 8+ years’ experience in urban design, with a proven track record of successfully achieving objectives and working on large-scale and/or mixed-use urban renewal projects.

This role will suit a person who has demonstrated advanced problem solving and decision-making ability, including confidence in working with leaders to resolve high priority, and often sensitive and complex issues and conflict.

You will have the ability to understand all components of project, program and portfolio management processes.
