About the role

The Library Services Manager will lead, manage and develop Parramatta’s library services and facilities, whilst promoting the libraries collections, programs and services.

The Library Services Manager will lead the implementation of a Library Services transformational change program, shaping customer experience, organisational redesign, local workplace reform and unlocking cultural and behavioural change across all aspects of library service delivery.

The role will be responsible for and accountable to lead, manage and develop a team of professionals in the designated area of expertise to promote accountability and alignment towards achieving desired organisational outcomes. More specifically, the role will:

Drive and influence an ambitious transformation program to elevate the library service to being trusted, innovative and customer-focused community service.

• Develop and enhance the library leadership and culture to promote and influence a unified, engaged and high performing team focus.
• Manage the function’s annual budget and provide key inputs to the budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Promote and maintain effective relationships with all library stakeholders, including customers, community organisations, library partners and State and Federal authorities.

About the person

The successful candidate will have a recognised tertiary qualification in Information Science/Librarianship or a related discipline.

They will have 10 plus years’ experience in building and leading a cohesive team with a constructive culture, and record of achieving strategic objectives.

Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the relevant legislative and regulatory requirements applicable to the Library service areas and the ability to practically apply this knowledge.

The candidate must have the ability to demonstrate their experience and sound understanding of library information & management systems; office productivity software, such as Microsoft Office; search engines and search strategies; databases; eBook devices and platforms.

What’s on offer

We are offering an attractive salary from $171,507.65 p.a. plus Super.
