Product categories include premium brands of decking, railing, siding, trim, and more. Our goal is to grow Warehouse ’71 into the top ecommerce, building materials outlet.

Job Description

We are looking for a self-starter, experienced Logistics Specialist to help us grow our business. You will learn and manage Warehouse 71’s onsite and inbound inventory, pick, pack and ship orders, and assist customers with their pick-ups.

Being a representative of the Warehouse ’71 brand, a successful associate will ensure customers have a positive experience when at our lumber yard by providing prompt, friendly, and professional customer service.

Additionally, you will collaborate with the on-site sales team to ensure the orders are picked correctly and on time, meet Warehouse 71’s quality standards, and supervise the pick-up process.

Experience working with building materials, including safe forklift practices for large items, quality assurance, and packing standards is a plus.

This position will be part of a small team having a big impact, so ownership mentality, teamwork, and excellent communication are crucial to induvial and team success.

In the long term, this position will significantly contribute to the growth and development of the brand and business. If successful in the position, there will be opportunity for growth.

Responsibilities

Inbound Inventory

• Receive inbound inventory in ERP system, validate quantity and condition, and put product away in assigned location
• Sort and manage quality of inbound material before receiving into inventory
• Notify sales and management when transfers have been received
• Pick-up warehouse transfers from our nearby branch to ensure timely order fulfillment

Outbound Orders

• Pick, package, process and ship Warehouse ’71 orders in a timely manner
• Manages quality of outbound inventory to reduce product claims and customer complaints
• Ensure all paperwork for order fulfillment is completed and organized
• Schedule order shipments with carriers
• Collaborate with sales

Inventory Management

Responsible for efficiently organizing and staging inventory in the lumber yard and warehouse, including moving inventory to facilitate sales initiatives.

Product will be handled indoor and outdoor, regardless of weather and conditions.

• Learn product-specific condition specifications
• Manage scratch & dent’ material inventory by using inter-warehouse transfers and write offs. Physically manage scratch & dent inventory location
• Perform cycle counts on schedule
• Set-up products with locations in ERP system to match physical warehouse locations for more efficient picking

Pick-Ups & Customer Service

• Keep the yard clean, organized, and free of debris, work with Sales to identify areas of improvement
• Help grow Warehouse 71’s word-of-mouth recommendations by ensuring the customer has a positive experience, one that they would want to share with others
• Load customers vehicle, using the best method (forklift or handload)

Education

Associates Degree in Supply Chain Operations, Business or other related fields is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in logistics and warehouse management
• Experience in the lumber and building materials industry
• Experience operating forklifts with large, bulky, heavy materials
• Experience with ERP Systems
• Experience with TMS Systems is a plus
• Proficient and comfortable with Microsoft, email and other technology platforms
• Strong, professional verbal and written communication skills
