Position: Temporary
Embed People Strategy and Policy at Directorate level, Commission support where needed, maintaining an oversight of all key people issues in assigned Directorate.
Key tasks
Consult with senior management and provide strategic and daily HR guidance
Monitor and report on workforce, succession planning, people trends and metrics devising Directorate Plans to address issues identified
Develop and direct a people agenda that closely supports directorate goals
Resolve employee relations issues
Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention
Facilitate identifying training needs for teams and individuals
Suggest new data driven HR strategies
Provide coaching, mentoring and support to leaders and aspiring leaders
Accountable for ensuring Directorate adherence to policy / strategy
Provide technical leadership on people projects
Support and develop recruitment and movement
This assignment is expected to be for a period of 3 months.
Qualifications Required
Understand business strategy and commercially aware with sound knowledge of business drivers and the external environmentAssessing business needs from multiple sources, producing high level summaries and recommend appropriate interventions.
Understanding of organisational development strategies and change management philosophies, tools and techniques
Practical knowledge of the principles of succession planning and competency frameworks
Practical knowledge of workforce & resource planning
Understanding of process improvement tools and techniques
Practical knowledge of progressive employee relations and employee engagement philosophies
Strong understanding of employment law and related procedures
Organisational awareness and knowledge of internal & external drivers
Understanding of audit processes, policy development and improvement techniques
