The ideal candidate is also mature in Christian faith, with significant, sustained investment in a local church community and a life rich in devotion and/or spiritual discipline. Duties include:
Partner with the Student Life Director to support events and activities by developing meaningful relationships with students
A willingness to respect and meet students where they are, in order to graciously walk with them and guide them through this moment in life
A clear understanding of how to be, both, a trusted friend and mentor
An excitement and joy in hanging out with and genuinely getting to know teenagers
An eagerness to support students in all that they do (i.e. Arts, Academics, Athletics, etc.)
A desire to fight for students’ needs, while helping them to navigate the nuances of young adulthood
A desire to create programming that encourages students to tap into their inner child.
Coordinate marketing and social media presence
This position is ideal for someone who wants to be part of a relational community, be involved in the lives of teenagers, and enjoys having diverse responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who has the tact and professionalism to work with parents, students, and colleagues.
Additional responsibilities:
Participation in after-hours or overnight campus events such as the all-school retreat, open house, student life events, and graduation.
Manage student orgs and work with students to maintain and improve student culture.
Abide by the guidelines stated in the employee handbook and be consistent in applying the policies of the school as stated in the student handbook and curriculum guide.
Qualifications
An ideal candidate will be a relational expert and may have experience in youth ministry or an academic setting and may have a degree(s) in counseling, school psychology, or M.Ed
