The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Asset Inventory and Programming, this role is responsible for coordinating the warranty repair program and projects for wagons which operate on all rail networks.

The Project coordination requires arranging the inspections of wagons for defects, prioritisation, planning & scheduling of warranty repairs by Wagon OEM/repair providers at specified locations.

Working amongst a team of internal and external stakeholders, you will be expected to collaborate frequently whilst also contributing an environment that produces a high-performing and engaged team.

Key responsibilities include:

Whilst having many operational responsibilities, you will also be accountable for ensuring, complying & promoting the HSE of the site through the implementation & maintenance of organisational systems, programs, and procedures.

Other responsibilities include:

• Schedule wagon warranty inspections and prioritise warranty repairs through Maximo, working in conjunction with Maintenance Programmers.
• Coordinating tasks including following the prioritisation matrix and overseeing the forecast of work completion.
• Reviewing video footage where required, recording results in Maximo and updating the prioritisation matrix
• Scheduling Rolling Stock Notice on Maximo (RSN), ensuring appropriate materials are available whilst also liaising with the Supply team
• Review weekly variations register, approve variations, PO’s and Invoices and ensure audit inspections of variation work are completed
• Arranging and undertaking site safety inspections and observations to PN requirements
• Continually reviewing & updating site specific safety processors and strive for improved safety performance
• Writing IRC and Capex papers to present when requires
• Liaising with Finance, Supply and Projects teams to outline monthly requirements
• Administering services and work contracts in accordance contractual terms and scope

About You

The successful candidate will have proven knowledge and practice of project coordination and management experience and terminology as well as an eye for detail and be able to uphold compliance and drive best practice processes through a pragmatic and can-do attitude.

You will have exceptional interpersonal skills that will enable you to build and maintain internal stakeholders and external vendors. You will be highly organised and capable of delivering multiple projects with conflicting deadlines.

In addition, you’ll be expected to demonstrate:

• Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or appropriate field experience
• Knowledge or Rail Industry Standards & Safety Board
• Proven background in managing the execution of large projects
• Strong stakeholder management skills including negotiating, facilitation and influencing.
• Proven experience in Warranty/Contract management
• Project Management qualification is highly desirable
• Microsoft Project Suites software experience including MS Project & Maximo
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
