This position will be responsible for the design and delivery of technology architecture, solutions and software in the newly formed Workforce Benefits Division, to capture, manage, store and utilize structured and unstructured data from internal and external sources. The role will establish and build processes and structures based on business and technical requirements to channel data from multiple inputs, route appropriately and store using any combination of distributed (cloud) structures, local databases, and other applicable storage forms. The position will form and enact data governance and data management principles across Workforce Benefits and will work with solution providers to ensure the integrity and automated flow of data to internal and external customers. This role will serve as a valued partner across Workforce Benefits functions to create a single-source of trusted data with fast, scalable access to data assets, to satisfy the integration and analytical data needs of the division.
How you will make an impact:
Stand up the Workforce Benefits data infrastructure and environment, including architecting a data warehouse model that integrates group benefits data and external data sources for business analysis and reporting
Build a master data management solution for Workforce Benefits Division, including employer group and member data and the integration of internal broker mastery solution
Architect, develop, and deliver data intake solutions from file transfers and real-time data sources into a data warehouse. Build data management solutions to feed mastered data and real-time data back to customer portals and vendor data exchanges
Work with Distribution, Operations, Product, Underwriting, Finance, and Claims to design and develop solutions that provide data for business analytics for internal and external customers
Conduct proof-of-concepts, ideate options, and embrace new technologies to support business goals and align with division strategies
Set up data governance standards, profiling, and glossaries using a data catalog. Utilize and maintain metadata related to Workforce Benefits data domains.
Maintain a data quality engine and utilize it to improve data quality and ensure accuracy of data
Act as a key liaison to Workforce Benefits Division leadership on data needs, understand complex data relationship and business requirements to formulate efficient and reliable solutions, and recommend best practices for data-driven reporting and analytics
The experience you will bring:
8+ years of experience using T-SQL, PL/SQL, or Hive to analyze and manipulate large volumes of data
8+ years of experience in analysis, design, development, and delivery of relational databases, data marts, data load processes and data wrangling in support of business analytics
5+ years of experience designing and building data models and data architecture in Group Benefits insurance data domains, including Distribution, Product, Underwriting, Enrollment, Billing, and Claims
5+ years of experience architecting data warehouses using Snowflake, Redshift or comparable tools
The ability to communicate and manage business stakeholders at all levels
Strong ability to build relationships across the organization
Ability to work with ambiguity, and drive efforts forward without fully complete information. Strong execution focused mindset.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Analytics or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
What will make you stand out:
Hands on experience with analytics and data modeling software like Dataiku, Alteryx, and ERWIN/ERSTUDIO and data catalogs like Collibra
Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS related to data warehousing: Redshift, Snowflake, Athena, Glue, etc.)
Experience with file transfer technologies including APIs, Mulesoft, and Control-M
5+ years of experience with integrating and validating CRM data, finance and underwriting, reserves and claims systems, and external data sources
