Pacific Bending Inc. Hiring for TIG/MIG Welder at Maple Ridge, BC Full Time

We are a family run fabrication/machine shop, specializing in pipe, and tube bending and the manufacturing of industrial components.

Our team consists of designers, project managers, and production staff who have the experience to produce various complex fabricated/bent products.

We are looking for an experienced Tig & Mig Welder who will be contributing to the successful growth of our company, perform all duties, and maintain industry best practices. Close attention to detail is required.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the selection and procurement of materials and equipment required for TIG & MIG welding
• Measure and align workpieces using straightedges, clamps, calipers & gauges
• Oversee the set-up of TIG welding equipment
• Operate power and hand tools such as arc welders, files, belt sander & grinders
• Maintain good working knowledge of the welding characteristics of metals such as stainless steel and aluminum
• Read and interpret welding blueprints, schematics, and codes
• Set-up and layout jobs using blueprints, diagrams and fixtures following welding procedures to TIG/MIG weld in all positions including the use of rotary turntables for manual welding
• Inspect, maintain and log preventative maintenance on equipment needed for welding and fabricating
• Sets up machines according to work instructions to trim, size, form, inspect, and GTAW & SMAW material to meet fabrication drawing requirements
• Drawing review and compliance for final dimensions, weld note callouts, base material and filler material selection
• Perform TIG welding on materials such as aluminum, carbon & stainless steels
• Solvent cleaning, trimming, sizing and polishing to prepare weld joints for welding
• Tack welding, fabrication of shop aids and fixtures to assist fabrication and welding
• Production welding
• Visual weld inspection using fillet weld gauges, calipers, micrometers, height gauges and final weld fixtures
• Weld inspection for weld size, face and root reinforcement, cracks, inclusions and porosity
• Ensure compliance with established health/safety policies and regulations
• Work in a team environment

Qualifications

• B-Pressure Ticket required
• 5 years’ experience in Welding, Fabrication, (Machining, or Hydraulics Industry an asset)
• Excellent attention to detail and eye/hand coordination skills
• Must work well under pressure with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Strong English language and mathematical skills
• Reliable, punctual and organized

Working conditions are based on a 40-hour work week, between 6:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Start time is flexible.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $29.00-$36.00 per hour
