Requisition Summary

PACCAR, global manufacturer of heavy-duty transportation equipment, including Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF trucks. The Engineering Solutions team at the PACCAR Technical Center in Mount Vernon WA is a new, growing team within the PACCAR Global Engines group with a goal to provide highly generic, robust, and streamlined software solutions to multiple departments and divisions within PACCAR. These solutions will typically support data acquisition and analysis, rapid controls prototyping, hardware-in-the-loop simulation, calibration control, diagnostics, and software configuration management activities. We are looking for a talented and highly motivated software engineer who is willing to work across disciplines. The engineer will have an opportunity to utilize a variety of technologies along with core engineering and computer science fundamentals to deliver solutions to achieve this goal. Division Information

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

• Develop robust software to assist with data archival, analysis, and reporting utilizing a variety of technologies
• Research and develop methods to improve remote engineering data collection processes at the PACCAR Technical Center
• Develop and maintain applications that support processes for data analysis, software release, software configuration management, hardware-in-the-loop simulation, and rapid controls prototyping activities
• Improve existing documentation and write new documentation
• Establish and document processes governing the above mentioned activitiesQualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering)
• At least two years of experience in a professional environment (graduate qualifications may be considered in lieu of experience)
• Availability to work on-site
• Ability to travel up to 10%, including international travel
• Use of version control systems (SVN, Git)
• Strong programming skills required, object-oriented design/development (MATLAB, Simulink, Python, Java, C, C++, C#, embedded software development)
• Database development experience
• Strong attention to detail, a passion to solve problems and develop robust solutions
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to work in a lean settingAdditional Qualifications

• Experience with XML, XSLT, XPath, XQuery a plus
• Mobile app development experience a plus

• Experience with CANalyzer, CANape, ETAS Inca and/or ATI Vision a plus
