The Role – This is a 12-month fixed-term contract

The Finance Team sits in a unique holistic role, involved in both strategic and tactical elements across the full business span. We understand what drives our business performance; help focus our risk efforts; overlay governance; but importantly help drive the business forward through insights, measurement, and challenge. Being part of this team is exciting – helping deliver value; providing shareholder trust and confidence; and ensuring we drive TSR. Our Way of Working supports us in being Devolved and Agile and structured around the Work to be done. In our Devolved Model, our operating Assets are responsible for delivering against their business plans in line with our overarching Strategy and our governing process and performance standards. The work of the Corporate Functions is to focus on the design and assurance of this governance system and the future growth of the Company.

What Needs To Be Delivered?

• Drive lean processes and deliver efficiencies in completing financial close by innovative use of systems and processes to achieve “Zero Manual” accounting.
• Prepare consolidated month end financial statements including C1 and AISC with associated analysis. Provide strong financial oversight and accounting expertise within the company. Drive accounting excellence.
• Support Corporate financial close processes including reconciliations.
• Manage financial master data governance within Financial Systems.
• Work with our Assets and Corporate Functions to maintain appropriate financial controls and financial procedures.
• Monitor financial controls and ensure compliance with the Company’s standards.
• Support preparation of financial and operational review for the quarterly, half yearly and annual reports.
• Lead implementation of new accounting standards once they have been confirmed by the policy lead.
• Manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and have a relentless focus on efficiency.

Who Are We Looking For?

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Extensive experience in financial and statutory accounting with a ‘beyond solid’ knowledge of IFRS and accounting practice.
• Well-developed oral and written skills with an ability to simplify technical accounting concepts to simple concepts.
• Superlative numerical and financial analytical skills to interpret results and generate analysis.
• Thoroughness in completing and checking tasks with a high attention to detail.
• Strong collaborator who can partner with multiple internal and external stakeholders.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and passion for driving efficiency through innovation.
• Excellent time management and planning skills continuously looking for efficiency improvements.

Remote. We are a paperless, flexible and virtual organisation where every person designs how, where and when they do their work. People are matched to work, not roles. We gather in person from time to time to collaborate, co-create and connect so travel will be required on these occasions, either to our offices or to our sites.
