Finance Assistant

Part-time, Fixed Term Contract

We are looking for a dynamic Finance Assistant with a passion for education to join our fast-growing company on a fixed-term basis. You’ll be an important member of the team, helping us to look after our finances as we deliver our academic courses to over 2000 students in 2022.

About the role

As our Finance Assistant you will work with our Finance Executive to assist with various financial transactions and reconciliations, supporting our seasonal team members.

Main Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assist with the management and reconciliation of transactions in Xero Accounting Software

• Management of spending by on-course teams during the course delivery period, ensuring that all transactions are supported with invoices/receipts

• Assist with the payment of invoices, distribution of remittance advices

• Liaise with Operations and HR teams during the seasonal staff onboarding, payroll preparation

• Support on-course teams with any financial queries

Practical details

• Start: May 2022

• Location: Central Oxford with hybrid working arrangements available

• Contract type: Fixed term until September 2022 with the potential to become permanent

• Working hours: Minimum 24 hours across Monday – Friday (flexibility on days and hours)

• Hourly rate: £10.40

Minimum requirements:

• No experience necessary, just an interest and willingness to learn

• Good team player with ability to communicate effectively

• Friendly and engaging with a strong work ethic; a team player with high standards

• Pro-active and ability to use initiative

• Accuracy and attention to detail

• Ability to use Excel and Word

Desirable attributes:

• Experience in bookkeeping and financial administration
• Experience of using Xero

• Interest in and/or experience of working in the education sector
