Oxford Bus Company Hiring for Trainee Finance Assistant Job at Oxford, England Full Time

We are looking to recruit a full time trainee to join the Finance Team at Cowley House. Reporting to the Financial Controller your role will be to provide support to the Finance Team by assisting in daily tasks such as raising of sales invoice, credit control, analysis of profit or loss statements, supporting our cash office operations whilst at all times ensuring that a high level of financial control is exercised.

The main responsibilities of the role will be to:

• Raise and process sales invoices and assist with credit control procedures, working with B2B customers to ensure prompt collection of outstanding receivables.
• Raise intercompany invoicing and ensure that all intercompany balances are reconciled and cleared off the ledgers on a timely basis each period end, with queries resolved with other group companies as required.
• Analysis of the P&Ls for review by the Financial Controller and the Reporting Team during the period to allow correct accounting practice to be followed.
• Assist the cash office supervisor in the processing of the driver revenue recognition and any other admin duties required in the cash office; including holiday cover for the cash office processing with assistance from the Payroll Manager.
• Processing of payroll journals and any other journals as directed by the Financial Controller and Finance & Commercial Director.
• Assist the financial accounts team with calculation and posting of monthly accruals, prepayments and other period end journals.
• Other ad-hoc tasks as required by the Financial Controller.

To succeed in this role you will be a team player, positive, self-motivated and driven character with a clear desire to succeed. You must be able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy in your work and to effectively prioritise workload to meet deadlines. You will ideally have some experience of working with figures or in accounts and be prepared to study to develop your career.

You will be expected to complete your Level 2/3 AAT apprenticeship at college under the Apprenticeship Scheme or via other learning methods
