Outermost Inn Hiring for Fine Dining Pastry Cook at Aquinnah, Massachusetts Full Time

The renowned Martha’s Vineyard restaurant “Outermost Inn” is hiring for the summer season. Here, our chef Scott Grewe (with a NYC Michelin background) prepares refined seasonal and local cuisine in a prix-fixe format.

We are seeking talented and ambitious full-time PASTRY COOK for dinner Service 6 nights a week.

Required Skills:

Ideal candidate will possess:

• 1+ years of cooking experience in a fine dining restaurant
• Ability to manage a station from prep to service
• Sense of urgency
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to take direction well
• Importance of maintaining clean, sanitized workstation
• Culinary school education is a plus, but passion for food a MUST!

Salary is 25k for the season – paid weekly @ $1470/wk gross. 17 week payroll starting approximately June 7th and ending Oct 13th.

Housing is provided on site (private room- part of the Inn) for $125/wk – Rooms feature spectacular views overlooking cliffs, lighthouse, and the sea. Rooms have private bathrooms, and television. Walking distance to the beach.

Be part of a team that enjoys hard work, dedication, and camaraderie – in a fun yet elegant family “summer camp” style! The kitchen is lined with large windows, so you can enjoy spectacular sunsets during our dinner service. The crew of 5-7 cooks and chefs will all live together on the property at the Inn in the rooms, so there is a bit of a social aspect. We put together a nice family meal everyday for ourselves and the staff. You’ll find you won’t have many living expenses once there. This is a really great opportunity to be a part of a tried and true technique for putting out delicious and beautiful food in an efficient and “civilized” way. The chef has a calm demeanor and truly understands the importance of professionalism and respect for his teammates. There is clear direction and detailed recipes coupled with openness for collaboration. This is a busy and growing restaurant. This is chef Scott’s 2nd season. We has an epic summer last year, and looking forward to repeating it this time around!
