Education Director
The Education Director designs, implements and oversees educational programs for OS2U. This role will develop curriculum or content for classes, lectures, conferences or other educational materials.
Job Responsibilities:
· Oversee the operations of certification or credentialing programs.
· Ensures that all activities and requirements regarding the organization’s education/certification programs are met.
· Create functional strategies and specific objectives for the school and work with the CEO to develop the budget, policies and procedures to support the infrastructure.
· Maintain and manage OS2U contact of all potential students from telephone, web and walk-in inquiry.
· Create partnership opportunities with surrounding areas in order to offer courses that meet the need and demand.
· Administrator in Moodle LMS course creation and report writing.
· Ability to troubleshoot technical issues for students in Moodle.
· Ensures that instructors can properly navigate through Moodle.
· Complete administrative tasks for OS2U courses as needed
· Ensure OS2U is compliant with TWC, WIOA, VA, AAPC, AHIMA and other accrediting agencies.
· Setting up and managing both electronic and/or paper filing systems.
· Ensure compliance with all applicable record-keeping requirements.
· Scheduling meetings and/or appointments with clients, students or staff.
· Ensure course pass rate is maintained at 70% or higher. If below, work with instructors on teaching methods and curriculum to increase to acceptable rate.
· Assist students with job placement.
· Oversee the coordination and purchase of all course materials (i.e. books)
· Collaborate with the Social Media Coordinator and the Marketing and Business Development Manager all social media and marketing campaigns for OS2U
· Must have strong ability to attract and recruit potential students to OS2U
· Collaborate with others to coordinate and participate in community appearances (i.e. schools, job fairs, career fairs)
· Ensure OS2U is active in the community and the general population is familiar with all programs offered. Ability to coordinate community activism.
· Work with CEO to design and implement classes offered by OS2U. Update course curriculum as needed.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Health Care Administration, Health Information Management, Nursing or Education
· Knowledge and credentials such as CCS, CPC, CPMA, CDEO, CRC, COC, CDIP with current working knowledge of medical coding practices preferred but not required.
· Preferred knowledge of wig curation and cranial prosthetic practices.
· Previous experience is an educational setting in a leadership role required.
· Minimum one year of employment as a postsecondary instructor AND one year of employment as a supervisor.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Must be proficient in a variety of computer programs to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SmartSheet, Vimeo, GTM/GTW, Calendly, Ring Central, Gusto, VLab
· Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
· NOTE: At this time, this is a part time position located in Killeen, Texas.
