Job Description: Sr. Accountant

Ostendo is seeking a self-motivated individual to fill the position of Sr. Accountant. Under the supervision of Accounting Director, the Sr. Accountant provides general assistance to the department directly related to the financial statement reporting, closing and audit. This role must be able to balance multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while still meeting strict deadlines.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process activities
• Prepare various month-end closing journal entries
• Assist and prepare financial statements
• Collaborate with other departments to gather pertinent data for month-end close and audit
• Review journal entries and reconciliations for inconsistencies
• Assist in the implementation and conformance of internal controls and documentation process
• Interact with external auditor, prepare audit support, and perform other tasks related to the interim and year-end audit
• Assist and prepare various tax returns and filings – FET, Sales & Use tax, property taxes, etc.
• Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA required
• 5+ years in general accounting experience
• Excellent understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial statements, and applying accounting theory
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Intermediate to advanced skills in QuickBooks and Excel.
• Highly motivated self-starter and team player attitude that can become an asset to the organization.
• Ability to follow through on assigned tasks from start to finish, research, analyze and solve problems. Preferred Education and Experience Requirements
