The Role
As a rapidly growing business we are now looking for a Finance Director. Reporting into the Chief Executive Officer. You will be directly supporting the CEO with strategic analysis, developing the finance function and setting up several processes from scratch.
This is a hands-on operational role to effectively and accurately support the CEO & Leadership Team to deliver a first class service with both strategic and operational financial management of the business.
Key areas of expertise are strategy, fund raising, scale up growth, project finance, operating in the USA, systems implementation, project management and reporting. Acting in accordance with the competencies expected for a role of this level, in particular balancing a collaborative ethical approach with constructive challenge.
What you’ll be doing
· Providing strategic financial leadership, advice and guidance to support the CEO
· Presenting financial reports to executives, board members, investors, and other stakeholders
· Preparing financial investor documentation, models and financial presentations for private equity fund raising (including Venture Capital and Private Equity and High Net Worth Investment)
· Assisting to manage advisors and investors in funding rounds to support the CEO
· Working collaboratively with the business and external advisors on project finance structures
· Being accountable for financial processes, controls and financial reporting in the US subsidiary and UK parent entity
· Implementing systems and reporting tools that reflect the stage of business as it grows
· Collaborating with project managers to create budgets and track key performance indicators
· Working with project managers to constructively challenge variances to budgets and forecasts
· Leading financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management and providing realistic forecasts of performance against budget and cashflow. Including managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts
· Being responsible for the consolidation of UK and USA entities
· Being responsible for monthly management reporting to the executive team and Board
· Being responsible for annual financial statements, audit and tax return preparation
· Working collaboratively with 3rd party accountants and payroll providers in the UK and USA
· Leading positions on accounting policies both internally and with advisors, and implementing any changes required throughout the business
· Being responsible for the finance team, which includes a financial controller and book keeper. This team may grow as the business expands
· Working collaboratively with the operational business, providing support and guidance on financial procedures and decisions e.g EMI option agreements, insurance
· Assisting the CEO with preparation of operational reports and ad-hoc queries

Skills & Experience
· ACCA/ CIMA Qualified or equivalent
· Has experience with Private investor funding models, Venture Capital and Private Equity
· Experience with working both in the UK and USA would be advantageous
· Experience with project finance would be advantageous
· Knows how to work with the latest financial software and has advanced spreadsheet skills
· Understands financial reporting and has strong analytical skills
· Communicates effectively and has exceptional written and verbal communication skills
· Develops strong working relationships with colleagues across departments and seniority levels
· Manages direct reports and leads a growing team
· Excels at multi-tasking, organisation, and time management
· Strong management accounts experience
· Some experience of multi-currency

Salary: Up to £85,000.00 per year
