About the role

We are pleased to announce that we are inviting candidate applications for the role of Lead – Capital Evaluation. Based in our Melbourne Head Office, the Lead – Capital Evaluation will work closely with the Orica’s Group Finance, Regional & Functional Management teams, assisting in Orica’s Investment Management Processes including Capital Expenditure. Reporting to the Senior Manager – Capital Evaluation, a core component of this role will be to identify and challenge levers relating to Capital Evaluation, in doing so optimising investment returns and minimising investment risk for Orica.

What you will be doing

• Facilitating decisions by Orica Investment Committee through administering, scheduling, creatingagendas, compiling documents, and following up on actions;
• Performing due diligence on investment cases >$2m and ensure a balanced depiction of investmentrisks, benefi ts and alternate outcomes to the Orica Investment Committee;
• Using trends and benchmarks to provide additional insight to validate alignment of individualinvestments with the Group portfolio and Strategy;
• Reviewing and drawing upon insights from Post Investment Review data and utilising for futureinvestment decisions;
• Developing and regularly reviewing relevant governance processes and standards.

What you will bring

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering and/or Accounting/Finance;
• Prior experience in managing of large scale capital expenditure programs;
• Exposure to a people leadership role within a large, global business;
• 8 years post graduate experience in a similar role;
• Demonstrated business intellect, achievement orientation and competitive spirit;
• Courage to make decisions, yet the patience to make the right ones.
