Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for the coordination and the efficient management of the Finance & Administration department activities (creditors, debtors, payroll, invoicing, cash, statutory / compliance reporting) which will ensure a high integrity of the financial and management information & data required for reporting and decision making.

This role will be working with a number of internal stakeholders, as well as working closely with the Global (US) Finance Team and the APAC Finance team. The incumbent shall be a seasoned professional who can drive those requirements noted above.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Responsibilities:

• Responsible for preparation of annual statutory financial statements, reconciliations and tax returns
• Working closely with the Liquip Leadership team to formulate and drive objectives in the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Strategic Plan
• Focus on driving continuous improvement and introduce best practices, financial policies, process improvements and solutions in line with Liquip’s growth objectives
• Proactively maintain and implement Liquip’s finance and accounting policies in response to changes in the business while ensuring appropriate internal control standards are maintained
• Work closely with internal and external auditors, and statutory authorities to ensure compliance with all IFRS and USGAAP reporting standards
• Assisting the Financial Controller and FP&A Team Leader with ad hoc duties as required
• Preparing key accounting tasks such as preparing and posting journals, month-end Balance Sheet Reconciliations and responding to month end inquiries.
• Maintaining Prepayment and Accrual schedules
• Assisting with Oracle enhancements and report requests as required by the Finance team
• Preparing and posting journals reconciling and responding to month-end inquires.
• Assisting with the Annual Audit.
• Coordinate the requirement of the audits and ensure on-time delivery of all requirements.
• Maintain registers for Insurance, Property, Audits, Capital Items, Journals, Company Registers and Motor Vehicles.
• Responsible for Lease Accounting and reporting
• Responsible for maintaining Corporate registers and company secretarial records.
• Coordinate insurance and lease renewal’s and negotiate favourable terms with all insurance and lease providers
• Assist with coordination and preparation of annual budgets to ensure on time submission of all supporting documentation and requirements.
• Prepare Royalty calculations and ensure annual statements are lodged with the ATO in a timely manner
• Prepare GL analysis and provide BSPL explanations for P & L and Balance sheet account variances, R & D, Lease, CAPEX & Currency exposure.
• Ensure all banking needs are fulfilled and Company contact and signatory details are updated in a timely manner.
• Responsible for Fixed Asset Accounting process (book and tax registers, additions, reconciliations, asset maintenance, depreciation, approval register)
• Responsible for preparation and submission of BAS (Business Activity Statements) on a monthly basis.
• Performing the monthly Fixed asset closing process
• Preparing month end timetable and Month End Checklist.
• Preparing Fringe Benefit Tax returns.
• Preparing and filing monthly BAS returns
• Assist in Transfer Pricing annual return
• Assisting/Backup for Accounts Payable Officer for invoice matching, coding and entry into Oracle Payable
• Assisting/Backup for Accounts Receivable Officer for receipting and daily Bank reconciliation
• Processing ad hoc or urgent invoice and payment requests as required
• General filing, administration and tending of calls for accounts inquiries

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Business from an accredited university.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in senior Financial position and strong business and commercial background.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), complete or near completion.
• This position is based in Smithfield, NSW.

Desired Characteristics, Competence and Capabilities:

• Knowledge of Oracle Financials preferred
• Manufacturing industry knowledge with good understanding of costing principles would be highly regarded but not essential.
