Finance Manager – Capital Accounting

In this fast-paced role, you will be responsible for the management of the Capital Accounting within Optus.

Core duties…

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reporting on the Capital Spend portfolio focusing on WIP balances and support the Capital Management and Fixed Assets managers with their requests;
• Assists Director, Fixed Assets and Capital Management to set up Control Framework and enforces governance to align with the framework and develop training material to improve the offshore processes;
• Implement recommendations in relation to Capital Accounting following the End-to-End Review of the Fixed Asset Management processes;
• Ensure effective oversight around capital allocations and drawdowns;
• Ensure the governance and processes around asset capitalisation and WIP depreciation calculations are effectively and efficiently executed;
• Ensure the integrity of the month-end close in relation to Capital Accounting, Monthly WIP reporting, Cash Capex spend and assess WIP balances in conjunction with Capital Management and Fixed Assets team; &
• Be pivotal in the scoping, implementation and driving efficiencies through ERP upgrade/digital transformation programs

This role supports all business units across all Optus Statutory Entities including Consumer Australia and Optus Enterprise. The role will be required to deliver improved business support (quality, consistency and speed), and development of an efficient operating model.

You’ll enhance ways of working in the team and assist and help drive a program of continuous improvement across all aspects of the team’s activities including leveraging the services of the BPO.

Commercially minded, you be degree qualified in a financial discipline and you are also CA/CPA, with strong customer management, project management as well as time management and collaboration skills. Your experience in similar role to date will be on show as will your ability to lead from the front and manage change and tight deadlines!
