Systems Engineer

Lockheed Martin UK – Rotary and Mission Systems is one of the four business areas operating in-country and provides systems engineering, software development, complex programme management and systems integration for advanced platform integration, electronic warfare, training and logistics systems and cyber solutions for military and civil customers. It is this part of the business that is looking for Systems Engineers to join our talented team.

The Systems Engineer will work within the project Engineering Team on the development of novel capability in the CEMA and Land Electronic Warfare domains. Reporting to the Lead Systems Engineer and other members of the engineering leadership team, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the Systems Engineer will support the design and delivery of programmes within the project framework.

Required skills and experience:

• Solid understanding of Systems Engineering processes and practices.
• Understanding of requirements definition and interface documentation required to support the development and acceptance of solutions.
• Strong communication skills, and the ability to write in a clear and concise manner
• Positive attitude, and willingness to get involved with tasks across the System Engineering lifecycle
• The ability to manage tasks and priorities to ensure that assigned workload is delivered when required.
• Interest and willingness to learn about the specific domain, including Radio Frequency technologies, Land Systems integration, and the Electronic Warfare, Force Protection, and Cyber domains.

Desired skills and experience:

• Basic understanding and willingness to learn system modelling toolsets and methodologies, e.g. SPARX Enterprise Architect, UML, SysML, TOGAF, or similar.
• Understanding of LM toolsets, e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Sharepoint.
• Experience with requirements and user story management
