The Opportunity

OpenText is looking for a Technical Program Manager with large-scale Cloud/SaaS project/program management expertise. The Technical Program Manager is responsible for managing multiple concurrent projects. They are also responsible for the timely delivery of quality program outputs while performing appropriate scope management. The role will manage the overall timeline for the program, manage issues and risks, and communicate program status to sponsors and senior leadership. The Technical Program Manager has strong leadership and communication skills, “hands-on” project management experience, and proficiency in motivating and leading others through a shared vision.

The Technical Program Manager provides a single point of contact for the program and will take projects from the original concept through final implementation. They will facilitate the definition of project scope and objectives with teams and oversee/coordinate all aspects of the program scope, schedule, and as needed, budget. The role will be working with the teams developing the OpenText Cloud platform and applications and is, therefore, a highly visible role with significant scope. The ideal candidate has experience and understanding of Cloud platforms, microservice architectures, CI/CD pipelines and working across multiple geographies.

You are great at:

• Developing detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, dependency tracking and status reports.
• Interfacing with peers in other teams as well as their leaders, including Engineering, Cloud Operations, Product Management, Professional Services, and Customer Support
• Providing clear status reports to senior leadership (SVP-level and higher)
• Conducting project meetings and being responsible for program deliverables
• Recommending and taking action to direct the analysis of, and solution to, program challenges
• Providing visibility to team impediments/risks and helping eliminate them
• Breaking projects into measurable milestones
• Helping team achieve project goals while partnering with Product Managers on overall business objectives

What it takes:

• Minimum BS CS or equivalent experience
• Experience working with Cloud platforms or SaaS applications
• 5 to 8 years of IT or Software Engineering industry experience, with at least 5 years in a management or project/program management position
• Proven track record of successful project/program management of mid to large-size projects/programs
• Agile project management training and/or experience
• Experience with management of several concurrent projects for commercial operations, security or service management
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Effective facilitation skills for participatory decision making
• Accustomed to working in a global environment involving multiple development sites in various time zones.
