Math and Science Tutor Needed – Starting at $47/hr

Are you a Math expert? A Physics wiz? A Chemistry phenom? If so, we want to talk to you!

Open Door Education is a locally-owned tutoring firm seeking smart, enthusiastic tutors to work with students in grades 6-12. We are looking for Science tutors with expertise in Physics, Biology, and/or Chemistry as well as Math tutors qualified to tutor Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Trigonometry, Probability and Statistics.

Our tutors help students succeed in and out of the classroom by providing academic support and enrichment in all subjects. We are currently meeting with all of our students remotely using Zoom. In the future, many of our students will once again come to one of our centers, located in Acton and Concord, MA, where they receive exceptional support and guidance from our team of wonderful tutors. Open Door Education tutors work flexible hours and receive the support and oversight that allows them to be the dedicated, thoughtful teachers that our students deserve.

EXPECTATIONS

– Mastery of academic content

– Ability to design and teach a comprehensive & individualized tutoring program for each incoming student

– Experience and skill with online instruction and interactive whiteboard applications

– Exceptional communication skills that support strong relationships with students and their families

– Punctuality, flexibility, the ability to work one weekend day, and a quick response time to emails, phone calls, and other communications

REQUIREMENTS

– BA or BS required; advanced degrees a plus

– Teaching/tutoring experience

– Experience working with teens
