You will support the Opal Converting Group Supply Chain Function to perform variance and cost analysis in order to provide accurate information to stakeholders and explain variance to budget and then make recommendation on how to improve the supply chain, specifically in the area of logistics, warehousing, transport, inventory and pallet.

You will need to be able to engage stakeholders and lead continuous improvement projects to deliver improvement in operational efficiencies and cost savings.

 

The key focus of this role will be to:

  • Assist supply chain in the development of their annual budget through the provision of data and analysis.
  • Work with procurement to identify and explain procurement price and freight variances.
  • Ensure all logistics services are set up and updated in the rate card.
  • Work with logistics to identify inventory variances, explaining the cause and future preventative actions.
  • Prepare supply chain KPI ing, review KPI trends, identify activities resulting in significant variance to budget and recommend solutions and improvement opportunities.
  • Perform cost modelling for logistics projects to facilitate decision making.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects, establish benchmarking and business case, manage project key milestones, engage stakeholders to meet project deliverables and deliver monthly update presentations.
  • Oversee pallet control procedures and monthly reconciliation for Opal Converting sites.
  • Establish and maintain good governance of all invoice processing and payment.

Specifically for this role, we expect you will have:

  • A Bachelor degree in supply chain management, or logistics is desirable.
  • Significant supply chain experience in manufacturing environment, 4-5 years preferred.
  • An in-depth knowledge of using SAP, particularly in material handling and inventory management.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills with an ability to work with complex data sets
  • Excellent attention to detail and consistency in the delivery of accuracy within one’s work
  • Project management skills with a focus on or previous contribution to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • A good understanding of financial and accounting processes
  • Proficient in excel.
