OneMain Financial Hiring for Software Development Manager – Cards Digital Collection Job at Charlotte, NC Full Time

We are seeking a Software Development Manager to help define and contribute to the success of our BrightWay Credit Card servicing platform, with particular focus on Digital Collection experiences. This manager will oversee the performance of an engineering team while optimizing, motivating, and contributing to an overall culture of quality and commercial success.

What we will want you to do

• Help in build the world class BrightWay Credit Card Servicing platform specially around Digital Collection and borrowers’ assistance. Digital Collection and borrowers’ assistance are the heartbeat of Cards Servicing platform.

• Work with the Product Owners to plan and execute card customer management initiatives, ensure that teams have appropriate product and technical KPIs, direction, and resources to deliver products effectively by establishing realistic estimates for timelines while ensuring that projects remain on target to meet deadlines.

• Recruit and hire new associates. Provide supervision for direct reports including hired services contractors. Guide team members along their career paths and provide feedback; oversee cadence of meetings, code reviews and project management.

• Interface directly with company and technology leaders to ensure your teams’ activities align with product, platform, and company goals

• Ensure our production services are stable, reliable, and operating as expected

• Identify and address bottlenecks early and often

• Contribute to our strategic technology planning

• Work closely with business and technology partners to define platform roadmaps and ensure that software development efforts are aligned to strategic business priorities

• Serve as translator between technology and business leaders across the organization

• Evangelize and facilitate adoption of development best practices such as agile and lean methodologies, DevOps, continuous delivery, and test automation.

• Proactively help team members and make suggestions to improve practices.

Skills or experience we want you to have

• 8+ years of experience leading and managing engineering teams, preferably multiple teams, in an agile environment

• 5+ years of full time, full-stack web application development experience across frontend, backend, and infrastructure including cloud experience and have a solid understanding of technical fundamentals.

• 3+ years of experience working with Angular, Node.js, and typescript.

• Overseeing the build and consumption of RESTful APIs

• Ability to navigate in a nimble environment and drive success in unknown territory

• Ability to maintain high standards, develop others, and create an environment where people can innovate and do their best work.

• Demonstrable passion for technology, innovation, and quality with a craftsman-like approach to building software.

• Strong ability to collaborate with cross functional teams including architects, engineers, quality engineering and operations teams to build solutions.

• Ability to interface with and influence leaders across an organization with poise.

• Competency to foster and build a culture of success, accountability, and teamwork.

• Enthusiasm for continuous learning.

• BA/BS degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent practical experience.
