Omni-Pac Group is looking for a Junior /Mid Software Developer to join us on our mission of preserving food and the planet by offering good quality, eco-friendly products and taking advantage of the virtuous recycling loop.
Omni-Pac Group are the leading manufacturer and supplier of recyclable pulp packaging products with sites across the UK, France and Germany.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the role whilst being responsible for developing and maintaining digital solutions driving the companies I4.0 transformation. This will include projects such as designing and implementing applications to collect data from PLC’s, communicate information automatically and efficiently across departments via displays/alerts, writing code for and being involved in/leading improvement projects such as end of line automation and stock management systems.
Working alongside specialist colleagues in our French and German manufacturing plants you will have an experienced support network to assist in this exciting role.
This role is a fantastic opportunity for a hard-working and passionate Software Developer, looking to grow into a role with a rapidly expanding company.
Role and responsibilities:
· To create new systems to enable communications for data collection and prepare digital reporting and monitoring programs
· Implement technology solutions to support the automation of the factory
· Updating existing versions of programs
· Support upskilling of other members of the team
· Run appropriate tools to resolve known issues
· Working with a mixture of Siemen’s, Omron and Rockwell PLC’s
· Provide general IT support, liaising with external IT support company
Qualifications and skills:
· Experience and knowledge of as many of the following as possible; JAVA, JAVASCRIPT, HTML, C#, CSS, Windows Forms App, IDE Visual Studio Professional 2019, Power Apps, SQL Servers.
· Basic working knowledge of Windows administration, networks and servers
· Graduated with a relevant degree
· Excellent communication skills
· Passionate about Software Development

Hours of work:
Mon-Fri 09:00-17:00 preferred, however flexibility for hybrid working if required.
Salary:
Starting at £25,000. Salary negotiable D.O.E
