The role :

This opportunity, ing directly to the Vice President of the company, will direct and coordinate all engineering activity.

The candidate will be responsible for demonstrating proficiency in the areas of customized machine design, understanding of engineering design principles, interdepartmental communication, planning & scheduling of engineering activities, and managing a diverse engineering team.

What we are looking for :

• Lead, support, and develop the engineering design team (currently a team of 8)
• Direct, schedule, and coordinate daily engineering operations to meet project timelines
• Lead engineering in designing, reviewing, and producing customized engineered food solutions
• Hire, train, and develop the engineering team to ensure departmental functionality
• Support and provide direction for the engineering team’s technical challenges
• Support manufacturing, installation, commissioning teams in project execution
• Provide the point of contact for aftersales and customer support
• Develop and investigate new engineering solutions for customized projects
• Develop and improve processes and procedures to enhance productivity
• Ensure company policies and procedures are complied with
• Assure health & safety policies adhered to all other duties as assigned

Requirements

Who we are seeking :

• University degree in mechanical engineering
• Demonstrated integrity, humility, respect for others, teamwork, collaboration, and accountability
• Proven experience managing and leading a team
• 10 years of engineering experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment, using 2 & 3-D drafting tools, preferably with AutoCAD and Inventor software packages
• Experience with custom food solutions, ideally with :
• Spiral & liner conveyors systems including lowerators, elevators, ovens, hydro chillers, proofers, pasteurizers, and freezers
• Sanitary material handling systems : including tote dumpers, lifts & racks, platforms & decking, channelizers & simulators, inverting & sorting systems, and size graders
• Advanced skills in engineering design, leadership, change management, interpersonal communication, attention to detail, and people management
• The ability to initiate critical conversations, and to provide and implement creative effective solutions
• Experience coordinating engineering activities with sales, supply chain, production, accounting, installation, and commissioning
• University degree in mechanical engineering
• Ability to travel occasionally to support onsite activities.
