Role Overview:

To support the maintenance of an effective and efficient system to ensure that the Council are fully compliant with Statutory Guidance and best practice relating to Personal Education Plans for Looked After Children. To support the Quality Assurance process relating to Personal Education Plans

Key Responsibilities:

• To ensure that PEP meetings and reviews are scheduled and completed within statutory timescales, maintaining an up to date database of such information.
• To ensure that information on Welfare Call (ePEP system) is up to date, making sure that accurate information is held on children new into care, educational provision, social worker, IRO and carers, for all children including those who are out of borough.
• To deal with queries from Headteachers, Designated Teachers, Social Workers, Carers and any other key professionals regarding processes and responsibilities related to the PEP process.
• To ensure that each PEP is Quality Assured on completion and provide a clear and timely feedback to schools and colleges through the ePEP system.
• To be a key point of contact for queries around PEPs and PP+ funding and work with schools, social workers and carers to ensure effective targeted use and dealing with any differences of opinion are so they are resolved satisfactorily.

Key Requirements:

To succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:

• To escalate any unresolved differences to the Virtual School Team Manager or Virtual School Headteacher.
• To liaise appropriately and effectively with Social Workers, Schools and officers from other service areas and ensure that effective working relationships are maintained.
• To contribute to training and development activities for Designated Teachers, Social Workers, Carers and other groups and individuals.
