Ohio University Hiring for Assistant Director, Community Standards and Student Responsibility at Athens, OH Full Time

The Assistant Director of Community Standards and Student Responsibility is a temporary, one-year appointment designed to primarily assist with the community standards process at OHIO. These positions will provide direct support and management of violations of institutional policy related to our public health operations team and related incidents. Additionally, this position will serve as a resource to faculty, staff, students, and external partners related to the disciplinary process.

1. Facilitates the Community Standards process for students/student organizations by conducting meetings that describe the process, explaining student/student organization rights and discussing/investigating the allegations of misconduct. Serves as an administrative hearing officer and/or advisor to the University Hearing Board. This also includes all administrative functions necessary to support the process. Serves as an investigator and hearing officer for violations of the Presidential Health Directives. This position will work directly with the public health operations team to mitigate public health concerns including significant administrative and investigatory work that support the community standards process. This includes maintenance and auditing in the Maxient.

2. Serves as a hearing officer in the student sexual misconduct process as required. Works closely with the Office of Equity and Civil Rights Compliance to investigate and adjudicate these matters. This also includes completing all administrative functions necessary to support the process (updating the database, keeping accurate and timely records, sending necessary letters, etc.)

3. Assist in the planning and coordination of education programming (seminars, programs, etc.); including the development of publications/materials for students, faculty and staff regarding the code of conduct, the presidential health directives, and other topics related to student discipline. This also includes assistance with recruitment, selection, training, and evaluation of the university hearing board members.

4. Supervise a Graduate Assistant in order to maintain consistency and quality control over their work product as well as provide educational and developmental context and support for their professional growth.

5. Performs other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean/Director of the Office of Community Standards and Student Responsibility including serving on divisional and university committees as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Higher education, college student personnel, counseling, or related field within 6 months of hire.

1 year of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in student conduct is preferred.
