The General Sales Manager will function as a strategic partner to the executive team of the organization. This individual will be responsible for building, directing and overseeing the national Sales function of multiple dealerships. Candidate will be responsible for building an annual strategic Sales operating plan, department systems, processes, sales training, performance management & leadership development.
The incumbent will serve in an advisory capacity to the VP and ELT team of organization-wide issues and headlines. This position has 2 direct s and will support a growing Sales staff (currently 15 employees); soon to be multiple dealerships.
Key Responsibilities / Essential Job Functions:
Planning & Development:
Develop a comprehensive Sales strategy and implementation plan that will allow the organization to meet and exceed annual sales goals
· Develop and implement performance processes, systems, dashboards; including performance improvement & coaching
· Develop weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales objectives, to fuel company growth
Operations:
As a business leader, be an active participant on the executive team and participate in Sales planning
· Build, train, develop, and audit sales process at all locations
· Supervise Sales Manager(s)
· Identify Sales training and education needs, develop, and implement plans, programs, and processes to meet those needs and consistently monitor the effectiveness of these programs
· Ability to develop team members proactively through cross-training & succession planning
· Ensure job expectations and performance appraisal objectives are written for each position
· Identifies talent gaps and develop specific programs to fill those gaps
· Ensures all training and development initiatives are relevant and updated with best practices to support company goals
· Handle all employee and customer relations issues – find resolutions that are customer focused and balance the needs of the individual employee and the organization
Required Education, Skills & Abilities
· At least five years of progressive Sales Management experience in small to midsize companies
· Sales training experience
· Excellent proficiency with CRM packages and systems
· Prior experience or exposure to EOS is preferred
· Proficiency in Excel
· High sense of urgency
· Team building experience
· Excellent interpersonal skills
