Job Description

Purpose of your role

The Head of Portfolio & Release Management is a senior role responsible for three key areas across the organization:

1. Establishing and managing the Product & Technology Portfolio

2. Management of analyst and delivery practitioners, and

3. The evolution of our delivery practices and processes.

This role works across Divisions to manage the priorisation and planning for the Technology roadmap, working directly with Group Executives and other business stakeholders in addition to Product and Technology management.

Leading a team of delivery and analyst resources, you will strive to achieve OFX’s objectives by establishing and evolving business and technology planning, driving and evolving our Agile based delivery practices while introducing strong ing and governance frameworks for all projects and programs involving Technology.

You will work across Technology to establish standards and practices to ensure a focus on business value, productivity and technical reliance while providing governance and high quality technology solutions within a fast-paced Agile delivery environment.

What you do

• Contribute to business strategy, annual planning, and integrated technology delivery plans by driving a cohesive approach, identifying and managing technology dependencies, and leading the budgeting process for effective program and product initiatives.
• Oversee strategic project management, providing senior delivery managers for end-to-end implementation, enforcing efficient governance tools, managing risks, ensuring stakeholder communication, actively handling budgets, and leading tracking and communication of overall plan benefits.
• Lead the standardisation of delivery practices, measurement, and continuous improvement in the Technology department, incorporating Agile and Lean principles, adopting evolving practices, and establishing efficient ing and governance processes to meet business objectives in terms of cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Manage and lead a team of Delivery and Agile practitioners, business analysts, and technology staff, setting strategic objectives, motivating and coaching the team, implementing KPIs, promoting high standards, and actively contributing to the broader Technology Management team to align with business strategy.
• Lead capabilities by developing and overseeing the Business Analyst practice, managing a team of Delivery Managers for complex initiatives, and collaborating with Engineering, Security, Risk & Compliance practices to enhance ways of working and support OFX business objectives.
• Ensure effective program governance and delivery through regular reviews, resource capacity planning, risk management, comprehensive ing to OFX business, creation of lean yet comprehensive artifacts for executive communication, and resource management to deliver key initiatives.
• Establish and lead a regular process with the Finance Division for accurate ing and forecasting of project and product initiatives, including efficient time/effort ing tools, while monitoring budgets for all delivery activities and providing timely updates to executives on expected variances.
• Collaborate within the OFX Senior Management team, engage with Group Executives, Divisional leadership, internal stakeholders, and the Technology team to build strong relationships and confidence in Technology’s practices and processes, while fostering robust working relationships with vendors and partners.

Qualifications

Knowledge, skills, qualifications experience

• Strong experience in delivery methodologies Agile, Scrum, Kanban and Lean (5+ years min)
• Experience of planning, budgeting and executing complex strategies (3+ years min)
• Previous experience of managing a department/team (3+ years)
• Track record of successfully managing multiple large-scale projects and programs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels
• Ability to challenge and influence at all levels
• Strong negotiation and decision making skills
• Ability to operate under pressure to tight deadlines
• Positive and pragmatic approach to achieving results
• Strong leadership and people management skills
