Purpose of your role:

You will be a key part of the financial control team supporting a global FinTech business that is listed on the ASX. You will be primarily responsible for assisting both the financial reporting and accounts payable functions within the finance team. You will work closely with accounts payable on processing invoices through the approval workflow, and checking, posting and reconciling related general ledger journal entries. You will work with the financial reporting team to own the third-party partner commissions process and assist with some month end close processes and other financial reporting obligations of the OFX Group.

What you do:

• Processing invoices through the approval workflow in Accounts Payable platform, Concur, resolving any workflow issues to ensure that these are processed and approved in a timely manager
• Checking and posting invoice and expense payment general journals into the general ledger, Microsoft Dynamics 365, from accounts payable platform
• Reconciling month end closing balances in Accounts Payable vendor subledger balances, accounts payable suspense accounts and credit card suspense accounts, ensuring balances are supported and any variances are identified and communicated to relevant parties
• Identifying any issues upon reconciliation and raising them with your manager or team to recommend and undertake steps to resolve
• Assisting with ad-hoc accounts payable related tasks as necessary
• Owing the internal third-party partner commissions process, completing the monthly accrual, and amount payable calculation and reconciliation. Confirming these with internal account managers and providing the amounts to accounts payable for payment. Upload of related general journal entries and creating of Recipient-Created Tax Invoices (RCTI)
• Investigating and responding to ad-hoc partner commission queries from account managers and commercial finance team
• Ownership of internal corporate credit card process. This includes facilitating registration and cancellation of cards, arranging monthly payment of balances via accounts payable, monthly credit card accrual, follow-up of outstanding credit card reports from card holders and reconciliation of credit card suspense account balance with related support. You will also provide ad-hoc support to card holders to answer queries they have on submission of the outstanding reports
• Assistance to Finance Manager and Financial Accountant with processing and completion of key month end tasks, including the recognition of various month end journals to the general ledger.
• Assistance with timely completion of audit support requests as part of the OFX Group external audit, particularly related to invoice and payment support, third party partner commissions and credit card transactions

What you bring:

• Strong attention to detail, excellent organisational/ time management skills and communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate and work as part of a team
• Intention to progress your career in Financial reporting and controllership

Qualifications:

• Accounting/Commerce/Finance Bachelor degree
• Part CA or CPA qualified, or close to commencement
• post qualification experience in a financial accounting team with demonstrated experience in accounts payable, reconciliations, general ledger and general journal entries an advantage

Knowledge, skills, experience:

• Intermediate Excel skills
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Concur is preferred but not essential.
• Experience in accounts payable
• Understanding of and experience in balance sheet account reconciliations
