Office Interiors, Inc Hiring for AV/IT Service Technician Full Time

Our Technicians take pride in their work – providing a friendly and professional experience as they work directly with internal staff and external customers on their projects.

Job Duties

The Service Tech will coordinate with Service Manager to restore operation to integrated technical systems. Responsibilities for the position include; Making service calls to client locations to troubleshoot and resolve AV/IT system problems. Provide customer service and troubleshoot via phone, video, or email, and conduct system commissioning process closing out installation projects. Must be highly skilled in IT, AV, Telephony, and AV control disciplines and commercial experience is preferred. Must be able to work independently and make and keep commitments with customers. If necessary, candidate will receive specific training related to control systems design, programming, and commissioning. Must be able to effectively interface with client and other trades. Will also work with integration team to perform installation work as schedule allows.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience
• Minimum two-year experience in multiple disciplines, including AV, I.T., VoIP, networking, commercial audio & video
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals such as: TCP/IP, addressing, firewalls, routers, vlans, and VPN
• Installation, cable pulling, field terminations, system commissioning, audio DSP configuration, programming, et
• Demonstrates competence in client communications, and detailed documentation
• Excellent computer skills including all MS Office applications. (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
• IT & networking experience preferred
• Solid understanding and experience with integrated operating systems required.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals – oral and written.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Must have strong skills in organization and planning, demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and exercise sound judgment and problem solving.
• Must have strong customer support orientation (for internal/external customers), demonstrates professional demeanor, and the ability to maintain confidential information.

Essential Functions

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Communicate effectively, open & follow-up on service trouble tickets, troubleshoot problems and take appropriate action to resolve.
• Coordinate with Service Manager as part of the same department
• Work independently, be self-directed, communicate effectively and make sound decisions to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Read and understand technical documentation & schematics
• Perform on-site and in-shop installation work
• Provide internal IT support for company
• Create, modify, and test AV control system programs
• Communicate status to team members and clients
• Coordinate all warranty repair work.
• Interface with clients to assist with training
• Prepare service parts requisitions

Other considerations
Must be able to pass drug test & DOT physical
Must possess valid driver’s license*
Some weekend/after hours work may be required
Steel toe shoes/boots are required
Smoking is strictly prohibited on company & customer property
