In this key role as Staff Accountant, you are primarily responsible for ensuring company procedures follow applicable management directives. You will be responsible for computing and preparing data for journal entries, general ledger, and day-to-day general accounting functions. This position reports to the Accounting Director.

Essential Job Duties:

• Accounts Payable: includes coding & posting of invoices, processing checks, P-Card uploads, vendor relations & filing. Initially, this function could take up to 50% of the time.
• Prepares and enters Journal Entries into the accounting system includes month-end allocations to centers, payroll uploads & benefit allocations.
• Reconcile bank account monthly, monitors outstanding checks.
• Annual 1099 filings for multiple companies. Must be knowledgeable with reporting requirements.
• Completes ad hoc reports as required.
• Banking functions: includes daily cash transactions, uploading checks into Positive Pay portal & monitoring of Positive Pay exceptions.
• Organizes and maintains corporate accounting records and journals.
• Provides accounting support to the accounting team and field staff.
• Performs functions in accordance with established accounting standards, company procedures and applicable laws.
• Attends required departmental and corporate meetings.

Qualifications Include:

• Associates Degree in Accounting is required; Bachelor’s degree in accounting is a plus.
• 2+ years of experience as General Accountant and Accounts Payable
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and complete assignment within time constraints and deadlines
• Ability to prepare written materials in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Self-started with an ability to work in a team environment
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment that requires flexibility and responsiveness
• Display integrity and professional behavior consistent with ODLE’s values and mission
• Intermediate level proficiency in Excel and experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is a plus
