Position Summary

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible to build and maintain our brand culture through consistent sales efforts in the assigned region. This position will be focused on leading the supporting states regional sales team to achieve budgeted revenue, volume, and sales results while working closely with our Distributor Partners and Director of Sales. This position is ideally based in Fort Collins and travels through the assigned territory. This position could have up to four (4) direct s (currently 2) and must be comfortable with travel at least 50% of the time

Team Management

• Provide people and operational management to the sales team in the assigned territory
• Ensures staff are effectively executing their job duties by providing training and follow-up to ensure accountability

Distributor Management

• Collaborate with the Director of Sales and Distributor Partners to oversee all areas of the sales effort in the assigned territory, including, but not limited to: Annual Business Plans (ABPs), Promotional Calendars, Logistics, Portfolio Management, Distributor Spends and Pricing.
• Develops, manages, and maintains Distributor Partners relationships within assigned territory.
• Analyzes and develops sales opportunities from VIP iDig and Tableau software.
• Assists with creation of programming plans, sets execution objectives, and ensures the details of the ABP are being executed with Distributor Partners
• Maintains detailed working knowledge of each Distributor Partners organization, go-to-market plans, and contract. Cultivates positive relationships with all members of the management and sales teams
• Monitors Distributor Partners inventories and orders
• Ensures the sales team is entering data into Karma notes on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
• Support OBC chain presence & revenue thru targeted and data-centric (internal VIP/external IRI and Nielsen) presentations that effectively convey the OBC brand to gain new Points of Distribution (POD)

Fiscal & Legal Responsibility

• Oversees and manages Regional Sales budgets, as well as capital expense requests and presentations
• Analyzes all budgets on a regular basis to ensure appropriate spending
• Stays current in each state’s liquor license codes and regulations
• Maintains TIPS certification
• Acts professionally at all times and avoids unethical sales tactics, including, but not limited to: free goods and cash for handles
• Ensures that the expense policy guidelines are being followed by the regional sales team

CORE DELIVERABLES

Every Week

• Reviews all internal sales information including PD notes, BLT notes, Regional Manager Minutes, Release Calendar updates and Marketing updates and passes along information to assigned team, and ensures any action items are handled
• Reviews ASM market activity through KARMA notes
• Phone call with Director of Sales and direct s
• Publish Weekly plan

Every Month

• Phone call or in person review with key distributor partners
• Distributor Partner Overview, including VIP #s, results vs. ABP objectives, and overall comments
• Distributor work with recaps
• Conducts Market Visits and MBM work with 1—2 team members including attending 1—2 General Sales Meeting presentations conducted by assigned team members, if applicable
• 5th of each month:
• Monthly credit card statement submitted to Concur
• EOM recap sent to Director of Sales
• Perform Top 100 account and Karma Task/Initiatives with assigned members of regional team

4x Times a Year

• Executes Business Reviews with key Distributor Partner to review progress toward goals and to update initiatives
• Conducts pricing surveys with key Distributor Partner to ensure adherence to approved pricing grids
• Actively participates in BPM’s and Sales Team Meetings
• SWOT reviews

Once a Year

• Attends key Distributor Partners Mid-Year and ABP meetings in assigned territory
• Assists in planning and logistics of the Annual Sales Summit & Annual Business Plan

Communication & Participation

• Actively engages in performance assessments, holds oneself accountable, and expects the same accountability from others
• Maintains high level of communication with Director of Sales and all departments, both written and verbal
• Actively participates in key meetings
• Attends industry functions as requested (CBC, GABF, NBWA, Savor, etc.)
• Responds positively and quickly to voicemails, emails, and customer concerns in a timely manner, both internally and externally (usually within 24 hours)
• Treats all employees with dignity and respect; creates an environment where the entire team does the same

Required Skills/Experience

• This position is based along the Colorado front range and preferably based in our Fort Collins Colorado campus. Relocation assistance may be available.
• 6+ years sales experience in the beer and/or beverage industry
• 4+ years managing a sales teams
• High School Diploma or GED is required
• Valid state driver’s license in good standing is required
• 4+ years working with a distributor is preferred
• Strong understanding of retailer relationships, 3- tier system, & marketing
• Excellent interpersonal & leadership skills including written & verbal presentations
• Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to be self-motivated
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; Gmail; Karma; and iDig/VIP
• Must maintain the flexibility to travel throughout the sales territory including, late nights, early mornings, weekends and holidays as needed to support sales activities.

Compensation

Wage information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is Odell’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, or other position-related reasons.

Salary Range:

$88,000 – $100,000
