Octavius Infrastructure Ltd Looking for Commercial Manager – Rail at Blackfriars, Greater London Full Time

Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a commercial manager to join our team in London. You’ll be working on our One Team Wessex framework, and you’ll look after the structures and geotechnical portfolio of work, providing leadership and guidance to a talented team of 6-8 Quantity Surveyors.

You’ll be working on… (what your role and responsibility is)

• Manage and supervise the commercial function within the Sector on all allocated contracts in order to ensure financial performance meets targets set out in the Business Plan, whilst maximising returns.
• Provide a functional responsibility and report to the Programme Commercial Manager on commercial and contractual matters as well as providing the same to Customer Project Managers (CPM’s) on all operational requirements to support the Project Manager.
• Help and support respective teams so they submit a robust and timely Customer Final Account and support the team in any negotiation in line with business expectation and by demonstrating Osborne values in all dealings.
• Put safety and health at the heart of decision-making; asking, listening and responding; creating an environment where ideas are freely expressed.
• Ensure every bid assigned, has a robust commercial submission on contractual terms and conditions and price.
• Ensure the business has a robust forecast every quarter with accuracy within + or – 5% on all allocated projects with detailed and articulated causal track and all major risks/opportunities identified.
• Exercise sound judgment around the production of monthly reports utilising the CVR process, to achieve a good financial return in line with expectation.
• Ensure that their commercial teams give both the respective PM’s and the Programme Commercial Manager, the correct and timely advice on financial performance identifying any corrective action that needs to be taken by the Project Manager to ensure the Project is put “back on track.

• Ideally, you’ll have comprehensive knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
• You’ll have worked with a contracting group in the rail sector, on rail related structures or property.
• Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
