Sales Finance Manager

The individual will be a strategic partner to the Sales and Finance leadership teams with a key objective of continually improving top-line revenue while focusing on profitability. The role will be responsible for trade spend reporting and analysis, leading trade budgeting and forecasting, supporting trade optimization initiatives, and ensuring appropriate internal controls. The role will also be responsible for preparing and evaluating monthly and quarterly business reviews, including brand and customer level profitability, and other non-trade selling and deductions expenses. The Sales Finance team is responsible for financial accounts between gross and net revenue, striving continuously to optimize profitability while utilizing strong analytical skills to bring exposure and awareness to Leadership.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Provide financial leadership and business insight for decision support and execution of the Sales strategic plan.
• Coach and develop direct report to strongly contribute to our organizational controllership, business partnership, and continuous improvement culture.
• Owner of all analytics, recommendations, and visibility for financial accounts between gross and net revenue. Provide analytical support to ensure optimization of trade spend.
• Prepare monthly financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, risks, and opportunity for all Sales Finance owned accounts.
• Analyzes financial results versus forecast, plan, and prior year, and investigate variances, assessing risk and providing leadership with latest estimates; delivers meaningful business insights through the presentation of financial results to executive leadership team and sales team.
• Develops new sales and trade spendingstrategy and reporting, providing visibility to volume and spending, analyze weekly and monthly trade results at sales channel, customer, and product category level.
• Leads the planning and development of trade expense reporting by sales channel, by key customer, and by product category.
• Partner with sales team on a weekly basis and oversees all processes within Trade Promotion Management life cycle, developing and implementing necessary controls to ensure trade funds are being used efficiently to promote profitable growth and brand awareness.
• Oversee monthly trade forecast modeling and reconciliations.
• Responsible for trade financial support for customer requests for proposal.
• Collaborates and coordinates with other departments, gathering data to conduct and review financial analysis on promotional activity, line review strategies, merchandising, pricing decisions, co-marketing activities, etc.
• Collaborates and analyzes the business case for customer price exceptions for everyday business and promotions with sales, marketing, and finance.
• Establish and maintain adequate internal controls to ensure trade and selling expenses remain in compliance with policy and controls. Document policies, procedures, and educate employees.
• Lead and facilitate process improvements including implementation of best practices and standardization.
• Manages Oberto’s trade system, its implementation and on-going maintenance.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent field required. MBA preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years’ experience in planning and analysis or sales finance.
• Trade finance experience within a consumer-packaged goods (CPG) organization highly desired.
• MEI/AFS/TradePro experience preferred.
• People management experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Self starter, able to work in a demanding, high stress environment balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.

• Must be able to communicate financial information and understand the activities of non-financial functions
• Strong ability to work cross-functionally
• Ability to develop collaborative working relationships and lead team meetings and projects.
• Trade Promotion Management System experience preferred
• Ability to pick up new information systems and work between many IT systems easily to manage information including AFS, QAD, BOARD, SharePoint, BI, TradePro, PowerQuery, PowerBI, etc.
• Computer knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Office; Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Strong communication skills and ability to speak, read and write in English.

WAGE: $110,000.00 – $130,000.00
