Oakmont Industries LTD. is Looking for Door Shop Labourer Full Time

Founded in 1975, Oakmont supplies quality doors and door related products to both high-rise concrete and low-rise wood frame multi-family residential construction in BC, Western Canada and the West Coast of the US.We are currently looking for a committed individual with a strong work ethic and an ability to learn in our door manufacturing facility in Port Kells. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual who works well in a team environment, has a positive attitude, and a willingness to go above and beyond to meet our customers’ needs and expectations.The role will mainly include working in our Wood Shop, but be willing to help out in our Glass or Metal shop when needed

Key Responsibilities–

Machining Doors and Jamb: Utilizing auto routers to accurately machine the door to our customers’ specific requirements.- Attaching Hardware: Utilizing the auto hinging machine and manually attaching hardware to the door and jamb.- Packaging for delivery: Building appropriate packaging to safely and securely ship doors to site.

Candidate Attributes–

Able to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.- Openness and willingness to work in all three of our shops.- Willingness to work extended work hours to get the work done during peak times.- Is open to feedback and takes responsibility for personal development.- Employees in this position must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and heavier loads with assistance. You must have the ability to climb, bend, squat, reach, grasp and lift.- Must be able to handle multiple tasks.- Works easily with others in a high paced work environment.- Be energetic, self-motivated, and act with a high degree of self-responsibility.- Maintain a business-like manner at all times.- Dedicated to continuous improvement.

Typically 6:00am – 2:30pm or 7:00am – 3:30pm Monday – Friday
