Oakland City University Hiring for Assistant/Associate Professor of Education at Oakland City, IN Full Time

This 9 -month faculty appointment includes a full-time teaching load of 24 credit hours per academic year in addition to office hours, student advising, university committee work, continuing scholarly activity and opportunities for professional development related to teaching and to the field of education.

Position Start Date – August 2022

Job Responsibilities:

· Teach graduate level, online and F2F courses in initial teacher preparation and advanced educational degree programs.

· Teach and advise Masters, Specialist and Ed.D. students on culminating assignments; theses and dissertations; serve on committees as assigned by the Director of Graduate Programs

· To fulfill contracted load expectations; undergraduate, F2F teacher preparation courses in the candidate’s areas of expertise may be required

· Challenge students through intellectually stimulating online and F2F course content and classroom practices

· Participate fully in the deliberations of program, school and university decision-making

· Collaborate with other University departments

· Engage in University activities including, but not limited to, attendance at general faculty meetings, committee work and other activities supporting student success

· Engage in scholarly and/or professional development activities including appropriate research, publications and presentations

· Flexibility and willingness to accept summer teaching assignments

· Commitment and a demonstrated record of academic excellence with professional and personal integrity

· A work ethic that promotes teamwork, enhances creativity and motivation, and builds consensus in the School of Education and at Oakland City University

Required Education and Professional Experience:

1. Earned Ph.D or Ed.D in Education, Curriculum and Instruction or related field

2. Experience working with doctoral students during the phases of dissertation writing

3. Experience teaching traditional and non-traditional undergraduate students in initial teacher preparation
