Nymi Hiring for Quality Engineer at Toronto, ON Full Time

We’re looking for a Quality Engineer to join the Hardware and Manufacturing team; focusing on manufacturing, logistics and process management, you will assess, promote, and ensure our products defect-free and in compliance with engineering and manufacturing specifications, quality processes, regulations, and standards. The position requires someone who is highly motivation and professional, detail-oriented and above all a team player interested in working on cutting-edge technology in a fast-paced environment. This full-time position, located in the heart of downtown Toronto: working remotely is possible from time to time, but this position requires regular access to Nymi’s head office in Toronto.

What you’ll be doing:

• Collaborating with internal and external parties to support, develop and sustain manufacturing process to meet or exceed product quality requirements
• Manage vendors’ requirements and communications as it pertains to quality KPIs, including ownership over SCAR, MCO and ECO processes
• Communicate and coordinate internal HW engineering groups on product issues, quality concerns, root cause analyses and corrective actions
• Support supplier evaluations and assessment to ensure compliance with quality standards and management of new vendor onboarding
• Overseeing incoming quality inspection of products and coordination of outbound inspections from suppliers and contract manufacturers

• Manage, monitor and report on product quality metrics, product risk analyses and field failures
• Own the engineering responsibilities of the RMA process, including all investigative functions as it relates to NCRs, SCARs, ECOs
• Process enhancement for continuous improvements related to production and manufacturing elements to reduce defect rates by working with the vendor to incorporate these recommendations

What you bring to the table:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline, or equivalent work experience and technical training
• 5+ years of experience in a Supplier or Quality Engineering role related to wearable/mobile electronics and familiarity with RF an asset or similar
• Experience working with contract manufacturers, suppliers, factories in product quality, nonconformances and processes
• Program management skills and training
