Under supervision, the City Laborers will operate forklift equipment for NYPD Quartermaster Warehouse.

Must have the ability to operate NYPD vans, box trucks, and motorized pallet jacks on a daily basis, carrying supplies and equipment and employees to and from different work locations; will assist in unloading and loading supplies and equipment on and off vehicles; responsible for the supplies and equipment carried in assigned vehicle; may be assigned to operate NYPD unmarked vehicles on occasion as need to transport employees, supplies and equipment. Must possess a valid New York State Driver’s License and preferred to possess a B (CDL) classification or in process of applying for it.

Moves, lifts and carries heavy objects and materials. May perform demolition work. May make use of hand or power-driven equipment in the performance of these duties.

License Requirements

Possession of a Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York.
